About Guilherme

Guilherme Zühlke O’ConnorGuilherme Zühlke O’Connor is a scientist. The scientific fields he wanders in go from computing to cookery. He has also developed experiments in architecture, photography, languages and travelling. For Guilherme, science is everywhere.

He is happily married with Anna and lives with ferrets and cats.

Fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French and with good knowledge of Italian, Guilherme studied architecture for 4 years and afterwards graduated in Computer Science, both in one of the leading universities of Brazil.

In the 90’s, he took photography courses and bought his first Nikon N50. Nowadays, he shoots with a Nikon D70s and photography is far beyond a hobby.

His work experience includes web design, map vectorization, design, photography, research and Linux High Availability Systems development.

During his career, he has taught photoshop, photography and computing sciences (introduction to algorithms and compiler design) to different levels of students including college audiences and has awarded work, such as the IPT website, that received a team award in innovation in Science and technology in 2003.

From 2005 to 2007 he was a Venturus employee and worked for Sony Ericsson Headquarters developing software prototypes for mobiles.

In July 2007 he left Sony Ericsson to establish in North Italy as a Web Designer. Currently works on a per-project-basis developing Eye Candy sites that are Accessibility savvy using Web Standards and progressive enhancement.
